A Lake Worth man remains in the Palm Beach County Jail after he allegedly left the scene after striking a 6-year-old boy with his car, then crashed into another vehicle after fleeing, according to an arrest report.
Aldrin Palacios Mendoza, 24, is facing charges of hit and run in a crash involving injuries and operating a motor vehicle without a license. Palacios Mendoza is being held in lieu of $3,000 bail.

The 6-year-old boy was taken to JFK Medical Center with minor injuries, including abrasions to his knees, arms, elbow and upper left shoulder, the report said.
Palacios Mendoza was driving a Ford Mustang that allegedly hit the boy around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Gulfstream Road and Melaleuca Lane.
After fleeing, Palacios Mendoza crashed into a Ford pickup truck at the intersection of Davis Road and Melaleuca Lane. The report said Palacios Mendoza jumped into his car’s passenger seat in an attempt to run from the crash scene but was detained by several witnesses.
