A Lantana man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly left his girlfriend with a black eye and a swollen lip, according to an arrest report.
Landon Grant Bass is facing charges of battery, domestic battery and false imprisonment and was released from the Palm Beach County Jail Thursday after posting an $8,000 bond.
The female victim told Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies that Bass, 21, has been arrested in the past for battering her. Records show that Bass was arrested March 9 and faced charges of battery and domestic battery. The details of that case were not available, but court records show the state attorney’s office did not file charges against Bass.
Deputies responded to the woman’s home on the 3000 block of Carrib Way around 5 a.m. and found her with a swollen left eye as well as a swollen and cut lip. Red bruise marks could also be seen on the woman’s neck, the report said.
The woman told deputies an argument began after she informed Bass that she was leaving his home in Lantana. The woman was allegedly punched and thrown against a wall, but said she didn’t know how she sustained facial injuries because she blacked out during the attack, the report said.
“Initially (the victim) did not wish to tell what exactly happened because (Bass) had been arrested in the past for battering her and she did not want to see Bass arrested again,” a deputy wrote in the arrest report.
